December 9, 2025 :

A commission racket operating outside Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu, has been exposed, where patients were allegedly being exploited for profit.

The DSB team apprehended three persons who were regularly found standing near the hospital gate and reportedly trapping patients after their OPD consultation. According to Police, the arrested individuals have been identified as:

1. Kuldeep Raj, s/o Lt. Roop Chand, resident of Rajeev Basti, Resham Garh Colony Bakshi Nagar.

2. Vishav Gupta, s/o Vijay Gupta, resident of Peer Mitha Jammu, currently residing in Roop Nagar Janipur.

3. Vishal Verma, s/o Kamal Kishor Verma, resident of Gurha Patan, Akhnoor.

According to sources, the agents collected prescriptions from patients and directed them to outside medical shops. The medicines were allegedly sold at higher prices, and the agents received commission in return. Poor patients, already burdened by medical expenses, were reportedly paying more than the actual cost.

Sources also claim that medical professionals may be involved in this nexus; however, there is no official confirmation yet, and the matter remains under investigation.

Authorities stated that such practices are not only illegal but also unethical, especially in the healthcare system, where transparency and trust are crucial.

The apprehended persons have been handed over to Police Post GMC Jammu for further legal action. The operation was led by the DSB team comprising SI Rakesh Kumar, Sgct Tanminder Singh, and SPO Ashwani Kumar.

The incident raises serious concerns about the exploitation of vulnerable patients and the growing role of commission-based rackets in the healthcare sector.
